What is The Sale?
The Sale is an exciting new 5-day fundraising event for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester (RMHCR) that gives you the opportunity to shop for bargains. All proceeds from The Sale go to RMHCR programs, which support the health and well-being of kids and families in the Rochester community.
Where does the money raised at The Sale go to at RMHCR?
Revenue from The Sale helps deliver our current programming at:
- Westmoreland House
- the House Within the Hospital and Ronald McDonald Family Room at Golisano Children’s Hospital
- and the Family Lounge at Rochester General Hospital
Additionally, The Sale is a critical vehicle for helping expand future growth through anticipated programming at:
- the Comfort Cart at Strong Memorial Hospital
- the Family Lounge at the Department of Psychiatry at Strong
- future programming at Unity Hospital
What about the Household Sale at Rochester Tech Park (RTP)?
The Household Sale was an amazing event for RMHCR! We thank all the volunteers, donors, staff, and the Rochester community whose generosity made it a success for nearly 30 years.
After the Household Sale event at RTP in September 2017, we took the opportunity to learn from the strong points of the Household Sale. From that analysis, we have created a new sale experience that embraces fresh technology in a remodeled and inviting space – with an emphasis on our mission of supporting families.
Where is The Sale located?
The Sale is located on the ground floor of the former Macy’s location at Skyview on the Ridge (Medley Centre) in Irondequoit. Conveniently located off Rt. 104, The Sale offers easy access and ample parking.
How do I get involved?
Volunteer. There are so many ways to help! Unloading vehicles dropping off donations, sorting donated goods, setting up one of the many merchandise areas (pricing, cleaning, testing, etc.), cashiering, and several more ways you can contribute to The Sale’s success.

If you haven’t earned a ticket by donating goods, you can purchase a $25 donor ticket from the RMHCR website. The Sale is open to the public on Thursday, Nov. 15 through Saturday, Nov. 17. It’s your chance to start holiday shopping while supporting our families.
Sponsor. Show your support by contributing funds or in-kind services. Consider sponsoring a merchandise area, bags, or a special service. We welcome your creativity in how your business or organization can enhance our shoppers’ experience while helping you share your brand. Contact Davek@rmhcrochester.org.
What if I volunteered at the Household Sale at RTP in the past?
We greatly appreciate the dedication, compassion, and hard work that led to the success of the Household Sale. Since The Sale is a new fundraising event, those who volunteered at the Household Sale in the past must now apply for consideration. Fill out the online application and you will be contacted by a RHMCR team member if you are a good match with our needs.
