Meals from the Heart

At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, NY we pride ourselves in being able to provide our families with daily meals. This helps ensure that while families are staying with us they can focus on the well-being of their child.

Make A Meal

Providing meals for our families is a very important part of our mission. We all enjoy coming home to a freshly prepared meal and our guest families are no different. After spending a long day at their child’s bedside, preparing a meal is one of the last things on their minds. We invite groups of 10 or less to come to the Westmoreland House and prepare a comforting home-cooked meal for our families. See below for additional guidelines.

Cater A Meal

Choose any restaurant of your choice and have them deliver directly, or you can drop it off, to us. You can choose to provide meals for both or just one of our locations , House Within the Hospital and/or the Westmoreland House, either is greatly appreciated. See below for additional guidelines.

Curbside Meals

If you’re not in the mood to come in and cook and it’s out of your budget to provide food from a restaurant you can use our Curbside Meals program. This allows you to drop off family size freezer meals, including, but not limited to, frozen lasagna, frozen mac and cheese, etc., or you can Instacart a full dinner, main entrée and 2 sides, to the Westmoreland House.

  • All food must be prepared and cooked on-site unless it comes directly from a restaurant, grocer or bakery.
  • You will be responsible for supplying all of the food/ingredients needed for your meal. Our kitchen is fully-equipped with cookware, utensils, serving dishes and supplies for you to use.
  • Meals should serve 20-30 people and should consist of a main dish and at least 2 sides (including a protein, carbohydrate and fruit/vegetable). Beverages and dessert are optional.

As an increased precaution at this time, children are not currently able to participate. All volunteers must be completely illness/symptom free (cold, flu, fever, stomach virus, etc.) for at least 14 days prior to volunteering. We also ask volunteers who test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of any volunteerism to let us know as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call at (585) 442-5437.
